There's no doubt about it, zooming around on the ice is a fantastic way to embrace winter and get some exercise at the same time. It is a lifelong activity that provides many positive benefits, so why not learn how to skate?
The Skating Academy at Center Ice offers multiple programs for people with a desire to master the skill of ice skating. We have developed a world-class program that provides all participants a positive atmosphere to achieve their goals, whether they are to simply learn to ice skate for fun, or to become a hockey player/figure skater.
Our instructional staff are trained professionals with a passion for ice sports. Their infectious attitude will give beginners a needed comfort level to succeed, while keeping each class fun and rewarding.

Program Benefits:
Make-Up Classes: Classes missed may be made up on any day and time that the skaters current level is offered. No prior notification is necessary. On the day you are making up please check in at the information table to obtain a makeup sticker. All Make- ups must be made up in the same session. No make- ups will cross over to the next session. The Parent/Tot class is a great way to introduce your tot to the ice all while being able to skate with them! They will learn to stand and support themselves on the ice, fall down and get back up and march through fun games and activities.

Tot's is an introductory class designed for children ages 3 -5 with no prior skating experience to build confidence while learning the basic skills of skating. These classes are designed to help children develop the ABCs of movement – Agility, Balance, Coordination and speed.
- All classes are taught by incorporating the introduction and development of skills through professional instruction in a fun, safe and positive environment.

Learn To Skate USA membership is required for all classes. Annual membership is from July 1st of current year through June 30th of the following year.

MEMBERSHIPS SHOULD BE COMPLETED BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS.
If registering on line you must enter your membership number to complete registration. If registering at the rink you must present number before taking the ice.

Basic 2 - 6 Skaters will learn and master forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers and turns throughout these levels. These levels are the fundamentals for skaters to advance to spins and jumps.

Basic 3/ Alpha – Participant must have passed Basic 2 level (formally Pre-Alpha)
Basic 4/ Beta – Participant must have passed Basic 3/ Alpha level

Professional instructors break down each skill and teach the skaters the foundation of proper jump and spin technique, as well as strong skating and edge skills in a safe and educational group setting.

Center Ice offers Teen/Adult skating classes as a part of our Skating Academy. The Adult class is “at your own pace” and is perfect for beginners, continuing adult skaters or skaters who are returning to the ice after years of hiatus.
This program is 50% off for parents that have children signed up in another program. Parents that have a child sign up please sign up at the rink to receive your 50% discount.

We provide classes to skaters with physical and /or intellectual disabilities. Our classes will follow the Learn to Skate USA Adaptive and Basic Skills curriculum. Skating helps to foster social skills, balance, a team atmosphere, a sense of achievement and FUN!! Classes are taught by Learn to Skate Coaches and Peer Mentors.

Synchronized skating is a team sport in which 8- 20 skaters perform together and is characterized by teamwork, speed, intricate formations and challenging step sequences. As with other disciplines all teams perform a free skate with required well balanced program element
Center Ice Precicettes program provides skaters with the opportunity to participate at a competitive level in the sport of Synchronized Skating. We strive to provide a quality program that fields competitive team, improve individual skating technique through both on ice and office practice. The Preciciettes program stresses good Sportsmanship, Cooperation and Leadership through the competitive experience. We sincerely hope that friendships are made through Preciciettes that will last a lifetime.
This clinic will provide you knowledge of synchronized skating and teach you steps and formations that could be used in a program later. There is an on ice and off ice component to this clinic.
